Glyoxal as an alternative fixative to formaldehyde in immunostaining and super-resolution microscopy

Paraformaldehyde (PFA) is the most commonly used fixative for immunostaining of cells. We show here that the small dialdehyde glyoxal can not only successfully replace PFA but is more efficient.

Comparative synaptosome imaging - a semi-quantitative method to obtain copy numbers for synaptic and neuronal proteins

Protein copy numbers are typically estimated using biochemical approaches. We show here that combining imaging enables us to calculate precise copy numbers at biochemically untangible regions, such as subcellular organelles.
